A certified Bhangra superstar, whose thirteen albums have sold in the millions heads to Crawley on Friday 20 July, 8pm to kick off Crawley International Mela 2012. Jazzy B, universally known as ‘The Crown Prince of Bhangra’, will be taking to The Hawth stage with a ‘Best of’ live set to entertain the crowd for one night only.
Jazzy B’s (real name Jaswinder Singh Bains) music combines a rich collection of Bollywood grooves, emotive ballads, stirring desi folk and R&B beats with a nostalgic trip through Punjabi music of the past. He says “I want to please everyone with my music, with my performances and with my style. My music is for everyone and I’m proud of my accomplishments.”
Jazzy B has much to be proud of, as well as being a multi-platinum selling artist with almost two decades in the music business, he has also tried his hand at the big screen with appearances in blockbusters such as Shaheed Udham Singh and the Bollywood hit, Teesri Aankh.
With his unique music and fashion sense Jazzy is one of the pioneers of commercial Bhangra, regarded as solely responsible for bringing a chic urban style to the folk music of the Punjab.

Crawley International Mela runs from Saturday 21 to Sunday 22 July from 12 noon in The Hawth Grounds with music and dance from around the world, a community stage, a bazaar selling arts, crafts, fashion and food from around the world plus film screenings, workshops and more.
